THE DAWNING OF A NEW ERA

Much has changed since my last entry. Everything that seemed to have gone awry has become a blessing in disguise...

So it happened that my friend and I outwore our welcome at our previous residence...OH FRICKIN' WELL! My only qualm with having to move (for the fifth time in one year) was the suddenness of it all. Life was throwing too many curb balls too fast and from places I hadn't expected. After much deliberation we decided that a fresh start, away from the cesspool of drama and unhappiness this heinous city has become for the both of us, was the best course of action. We decided that our new home is to be in Austin, Texas. At first my friend was a tad frightened to run off and live somewhere in which we knew no one; but as time passed we found that several friends, family, and acquaintances either lived there or were on the verge of moving there.

The move has proved to be a cumbersome task...much more so than I anticipated. I am flooded with all the paperwork, prerequisites, appointments, and deadlines on top of my job and all my schoolwork! These last two semesters I have even had to request special accommodations from my professors due to strenuating  circumstances. My patience has been stretched far beyond the limits I thought I had, so I'm treading the fine line between madness and sanity. Nevertheless, I am happy to announce that my sub-human ability to cope with bullshit has finally paid off--we found a great place, for a great price, at a great location and our college enrollment in Austin is nearly finalized. Yes, I am Superwoman.

All in all, I have not been this happy in a very long time. In fact, I don't ever recall feeling so alive and devoid of inhibitions! Life is fun, enthralling and oh-so-beautiful! Because I've been living under the roofs and inane rules of incompetent dolts, I had been holding back from being the real me...I can't believe I almost forgot who I was! Slowly but surely, my true self is emerging and I find that I am the person I have aspired to be. I will never again let anyone else hold the reins, nor will I attempt to change for them!

I am utterly, painfully, and thankfully alive!

  1. Yay for you! It's about bloody time! I've been telling you this for a couple of years now. Glad to hear it's finally sunk in. Just remember to leave the 'baggage' in Houston. Otherwise you will fall into the trap of: No matter where you go, there you are. Start over with a new canvas and choose your brushes and colours wisely.
